Our Mandate
The ILRA has been the voice of the British Columbia value-added wood -products
sector since 1972. The ILRA represents more than 100 value-adding members to
both the Federal and Provincial Governments on a wide range of issues such as
The US/Canada Softwood Lumber Dispute, fiber security and market access issues
and industry competitiveness aspects of the industry.
ILRA members employ approximately 4,000 workers, and ship 4 billion board
feet (fbm) of wood products per year with a value in excess of 2.5 billion
dollars. This makes our association one of the biggest employers in BC's forest
products industry and a vital contributor to BC's economy.
Geographic Areas Served by the ILRA
ILRA members are located throughout all regions of British Columbia from
Vancouver Island to Northern British Columbia. In recognition of the diversity
of some regional issues, the ILRA has structured the board of directors in such
a way as all regions are represented on the board to insure the association
maintains the flavor of all the regional issues throughout the province. |
Member's Products
ILRA members manufacture value-added lumber products, building components, and a full range of interior finishing items (spindles, staircases) through to DIY goods. These products are proudly manufactured in BC for sales to Canada and for export to the US and other global markets.
Scheduled Meetings
The ILRA hold general membership meetings at least once every quarter.
Occasionally, it is necessary to hold general meetings more frequently depending
on issues which may require individual membership input. |
